DESCRIBE YOUR BACKGROUND AND HOW YOU GOT INTO THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY.
I grew up in the industry – dating back to the late 1980s when my grandfather came from Africa and had his first property in Oklahoma and then when my father had his first property built in Georgia in 1996. As I was growing up, my father taught me everything about the business at his Ramada Limited – from cleaning and maintaining a hotel to running one. I worked at the Ramada throughout my school years on weekends.
WHEN DID YOU JOIN THE BRAND?
My Scottish Inns hotel in Locust Grove was the first property I ever purchased back in 2017.
WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO HIHOTELS AND SCOTTISH INNS?
I was attracted to the brand by its fee structure, which is among the lowest in the industry. I receive many of the same benefits offered by other franchisors, at a fraction of the cost. I also enjoy the great history of the brand, as my property has been a Scottish Inns hotel since the ‘70s.

My Assurance & Marketing Program director truly cares about me and my hotel. The support has been great and I always receive a response within hours of needing any help. I’ve never experienced this before from a hotel franchise.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU LIKE ABOUT THE BRAND?
I like the fact that we have loyal clientele because of the history of the brand. We attract many travelers because of the Scottish Inns name and its reputation for quality.
